I would have thought Newark also. Maybe Baltimore is a major hub for them.

I called the 800 number. They just confirmed what the website says and nothing more. I also called the dealer and they confirmed the website also. I guess the truck is waiting for another boat. DC says it shipped. I guess their definition of ship doesn't include an actual SHIP, just that its off campus!

Its a waiting game, and they are winning!!!

Shipped and storage are two different things, I though. Shipped is KZ, storage is JS. They should be able to tell you why?

See Alleyooper's thread below. Apparently, his truck was due to ship today, and now he is on some sort of hold. Maybe there is some new issues that has arisen.

Unhappy On Hold no reason given

Dealer called and said he has been unable to find a reason my truck has a hold placed on it. Said he was going to try again today to find out. I now have parts scattered over the country side to be installed once the truck comes in. A long trip (17 hours ) pulling my 24 ft. sled shed to Minnesota. Can't reschudle that since it coinsides with the expected birth of my grand son.
Still smilling though, for a while longer any way.

It's still in JS status - shipped to storage. It really didn't ship out, as in, invoiced (not KZ status).

DC doesn't have a clew to what is going on. They say its waiting to load the boat and I am unable to give a date.

Does the website show the status of your truck correctly? Did your truck ever get "shipped to storage"? How long? Mine has been there since Friday 2/20. Maybe my truck is waiting for your boat to make it back to VeraCruz!

No, it is KZ. This sight is not updated often. Still showing as supposed to be on the boat in Vera Cruz yesterday (2/23).

FWIW, my dealer called me today, the side steps and chrome filler cap are there ahead of my truck to be installed. When I talked to him last week, they had received the invoice. He thinks it will be there within two weeks.

Insight has a disclaimer about shipping info being not accurate. NJTackle, for whatever reason, your truck is sitting in a parking lot somewhere waiting to be shipped.

What does your dealer say?

Scott, Dealer says he'll call me when he knows something..which is nothing more than what the website can tell me. He doesn't seem to concerned about it so I'm not worried, even though I read of trucks being stuck in limbo for weeks on end.

I'm sure the ships don't run hourly/daily schedules like a ferry service. Probably one boat a week, maybe. Your truck most likely just made the deadline to be shipped. Mine just missed it. My guess it will ship by the end of this week.

NJ, something here still doesn't make sense. I would keep pressing the issue with your dealer.

Hey Scott. I talked with the dealer tonight. He said give it till the end of the week. It should ship by then. I guess a few days can't hurt ... I'll wait.

Q: How many boats/ships pick-up the trucks down in Vera Cruz?

Q: Are the trucks loaded into cargo containers, or open to the environment?

Q: How long does it take to load/unload a ship (turn around time)?

I really don't know the answers to any of those questions. I think the total time from leaving the factory to arriving at the dealer is 2-3 weeks, depending on your location in the country.

Those of you near the border - you're good to go in a week. Those of us up north - we have to wait a bit longer.

My truck was shipped into storage (JS Status) last friday 2/20 and is still there. Has anybody else had their truck placed in storage status for any length of time?

My vehilce was built 01/09 JS status till 01/26. My truck wa sent to Vera Cruz on 01/27. It sat at the docks until 02/20/04. Placed on ship 02/21/04, heading towards Newark. My estimated time of arrival to Rhode Island is 03/17/04. My truck was ordered on 12/15!!!!!! Hopefully yours will arrive alot faster than mine. I'm in my 11 th week of waiting, and figure I have another 4 weeks to go

Wexman...Your remark about Insight being behind may well be the understatment of the year. I purposely waited until today to run my VIN number. The information it gave me is dated 2/12/04. Dealers computer indicated a tentative ship date of 2/26/04 after it went D1 status.

I vote they change the name from Insight to Hindsight.

It seems Insight will update when your truck goes from D1 to KZ (or JS, or whatever).

After that, I don't think it's worth relying upon. I figure (hope ) that by this time next month, most of us will have our trucks.
