NJTackle, my truck was in storage from January 9th until February 4th, then was in KZ(plant release) until February 20th. On February 20th it got a ride on the rail.

I keep checking the Insight website and my poor truck still shows D1 status as of 2/6. Since I called them about 2 weeks ago and they said it was supposed to ship on 2/23, I figured that the info on the web would've been updated. I guess I'll just have to call and find out what's going on. Since mine was D1 the same date as alleyyooper (I think), perhaps mine is also on hold for some reason.

Cool NJ! My new rig can't come in fast enough. Took my current POS BACK to the dealer tonight (emergency, no appointment) - less than 6 weeks after the first fix, my HPOP oil gusher is back.

Go here:

to read the details.

I'm still stuck at D1 status. It has said that on Insight for a while now and was just confirmed when I called DC. It was originally supposed to ship on the 23rd. Oh well, it'll just give me more time to try and get my Ford sold. I figure I'm now looking at the end of March, hopefully!

I think my ship has arrived!

My truck has made it to the Port of Newark as of today!

Should be to Dealer in Albany within 10-12 days.

Too bad about your Ford Scott. That really stinks that it can't even wait until the Dodge arrives...do you think it knows its going bye-bye?

I test drove a F-250 Harley edition before I bought my Dodge. It really wasn't that bad. A few things I liked about the Ford was a sun roof, power sliding rear window and true quad cab seating. I really wish Dodge offered a sunroof...

But Dodge has the better drive train and diesel engine so the decision was pretty easy to make. Ummmm...lets see. A Ford with a few nice features that visits the service department once a week or a Dodge minus a few amenities but shows up to work everyday on time???? Plus I'm starting to really like the look of the 3rd Gen Dodges!

Enough said!

Can't wait till the 23rd!

My truck is finally built and being loaded on a railcar as of yesterday heading for the state of Michigan

In other news did any of you guys waiting for your trucks hear that American Axle went on strike today in Micigan. They make all the rear ends for Dodge trucks.
Hopefully they have enough inventory for a couple of months

My truck was completed on the 25th, and due to be loaded on the 26th. With any luck I will have it on the 16th, my birthday.

Well, I just checked Insight again today and my D1 date of 2/6 has now been changed to today, 2/27. So maybe that means that it's on the assembly line as I type this. Figures it's a Friday. Does anyone know how much time these trucks are on the assembly line? Maybe I should order a bunch of tacos and burritos and send them to the plant in Mexico so they'll forget that it's Friday and be happy to build my truck.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but D1 date does not mean build date. I was under that impression also, until I called DC on 2/18, which was my "ship date". Trucks are built and shipped on the same day, which was how it was explained to me. They are on the line for several hours, then shipped, or sent to storage.

My D1 was 2/5, and it was built/shipped on 2/18. So....you might have a couple weeks to go.

Why the change in status?

D1 means that they have all the parts needed to build your truck and your order has been placed in the "to be built" phase. I recieved D1 0n 12/18 and the truck was built on 01/09( keep in mind that the plant was closed for the Holidays) However, it generally takes between 1 to 3 weeks for your vehicle to be built and sent to storage.
Good luck
Odie
Ordered 12/15
D1 12/18
Built 01/09
released from factory 01/25
shipped to Vera Cruz 01/26
truck placed on Ship 02/20
I should have my truck 03/15/04 17 weeks of waiting

There are potential hang ups at seemingly every turn. It looked like the rail car carrying my truck was making good progress until it reached North Pomona two days ago.

I talked to Union Pacific RR this morning and was told that the entire forty-five car train had been put on a siding for now because of a traffic jam. They were hoping to be able to send an engine down to pick it up in the next few days.

The hurrier I go the behinder I get.
