I would start from the ground up and create a good foundation to build on. There are indeed so many mods we all want to do to our trucks . Start with the basics such as turbo back exhaust, gauges or an intake. They will compliment your future mods nicely.

What kind of truck do you have? That's the first thing the veterans on this site are going to ask. Also, what do you want to do with you truck? Race, tow, sled pull?

For my 06 I did the Air filter (Amsoil EAA189), Intake tube rep (5.5" dia tubing), and muffler delete, shocks, and Smarty.. Reasons for the Smarty was to read and clear CEL codes and more MPG. Power ain't bad either LOL

My Speedo is off 2 MPR at 47 MPH indicated =45 MPH so I will recalibrate tire size to correct too. (Radar calibrated). As usual Dodge is ripping you off on your miles on your warranty. Not as bad as my gen 2 (a tad over 10%!!!) but still 4% is still ripping you off.

I also did a GV overdrive but that's different.

I am not driving WOT but more normal with some "spirited" bursts of 3/4 throttle ...

With the Smarty on #7, with the moderate TM program, yesterday and NOT allowing myself to get close to stock clutch limits, I was very pleased how it felt.

It lightened up the truck and made it very responsive. Also the MPG on the overhead did not drop as easily when driving normally on the slight to moderate hills. I have only driven 20 miles with it on #7...

This has been the big complaint so far with the truck .. It acting as if it was 2x as heavy as the gen 2.

Now it *feels* like on #7 there is more power, low and mid RPM, with less fuel

Gauges are next.... Then a SB clutch.. Boy does the cost add up FAST! Another three grand... OUCH.

If I was towing, or driving HARD a lot than gauges would be early on. I realize I AM running blind I do not like that feeling but drove with them on my gen 2, so I know how to keep EGT and boost out of the red. (No Heavy foot at low RPM under load)

Most important things to consider,

Do you have a warranty? If so,do you want to keep it?

Next,do you need this truck every day or is it a toy or 2nd vehicle.

Are you looking to increase performance, tow better or better mpg?

The least costly and most effective thing you can do is to replace the stock air filter with a low restriction, reusable air filter that flows more air and filters better than stock.
Probably the second least costly and most effective mod is to modify the timing with the RokkTech sensor or the tone ring modification.
Anything after that is gonna cost a lot more money. Start with those and see how they work for you.
