Smarty or Smarty Jr.

Smarty or Smarty Jr.
I know this has been beat to death, but I still don't know which one to get. I am looking for something that is going to produce. I know that the Jr. is good to 100hp, but is that enough? I have the gauges and I do tow quiet a bit. Is the Smarty original worth the extra money and opinions or is the Jr. everything a guy needs without hurting the truck?

from what i have read if you are not going any further modding wise with the truck than the smarty jr is great, but if you plan on doing say a turbo and injectors and such then go ahead and get the smarty senior. Me i am getting a smarty jr until my tranny gets built, then i'll just sell the jr and buy a senior, might lose 100 bucks but oh well

I say get more than you need. Its easy to decide you don't want to run the higher levels after trying them but nothing you can do if you want more out of the jr. There have been some good deals on Smarty in the classifieds lately.

I was in the same boat as you and I got the s-06 revo.I just started testing it for mpg while towing 10,000#.So far I tried sw 1 and netted about 11.5 mpg, then I adjusted the rp to 2 and went up to 12 mpg.I'll repeat those steps thru all the sw's and then I'll know what's best for mpg and also what feels good to drive.

I just put a Jr in my truck a few weeks ago and love it. I keep it on the 70hp tune. Bob got it to me in just a couple of days. Got a 100 grand candy bar to boot. Bob, what's with the candy bar? Thanks

Just installed my Jr. today. Hoping to get some improved MPG's while driving empty. From what I have read on the other posts, if you plan to keep your truck close to stock, no need to go beyond the Jr.

i had a sr and went to a jr... the sr never saw over 90 hp on a reg basis. i only had the sr on its highest setting when i dynoed- ONE TIME. so i sold the sr, and bought the jr. i like it better than the sr. its on the 100 hp setting and its plenty for the truck, i plan on adding a pressure box to compliment the smarty timing eventually. but for what it is, i like it- just enough adjustability, reads/clears codes, adjust tire size, everything it needs to do...
