Smarty Hot Beta tests
SMT4V406DBETA447.7z
Smoke is minimal unless you lug the motor, but it picks up rather smartly after 1200RPMs.
Power wise, it feels.... well it feels as strong as the old Wild Smarty on level 5 at DDP but with even better road manners.
EGT's are about the same as wild, with just a touch better low boost fuelling, and less APP sensativity.
Very smooth and progressive as far as just toodling around town. Towing I would say is better with the Beta software. It feels like Marco has retarded the injection timing at low RPMs to stock values and then advanced the timing once you hit 1600 revs or so. It is very very smooth with a nice little 'kick' once you hit 1600 revs.
I am missing the low end smoke a little, but the inj timing is now well nigh perfect, which gets rid of that slight 'snatchiness' of the throttle under towing conditions when transitioning off the throttle to shift to the next higher gear.
All in all, a must have for your SMARTY tunes library.
I am being very very careful. Clutch and injectors and turbo and airfilter and exhaust etc etc etc are 100% stock on my truck!
Mileage was obtained observing a fairly strict 65 mph on the road.
The software is still in BETA format and not on Bob's site yet. But I am hoping it becomes public soon enough.
I will caution you though. This version makes the previous Wild Smarty look tame if you mash the GO Pedal, and that rearend will come around to slap you in the face on wet pavement faster than the hand of the marquis of queensbury for bad table manners!
Let me pull my fuel slip.
106.9L Fuel = 28.2804 US Gal.
distance Travelled
976 KM = 606 miles.
so if i take 606/28.2804 I get 21.43 US mpg.
Dang!
Unless my calc from KMs to Miles is off, I guess it makes it officially 21.43 MPG!
I calc fuel based on miles driven to the number of liters it takes to fill the tank up from the existing fuel level, and fill to the first click, then wait 1 minute, and fill until the handle clicks off again (at max fuel delivery rate to make it repeatable and less error prone)
