Smarty Beta 4.3 vs Beta 4.4 vs Stock - Dyno Numbers Inside

Well, just got back from the dyno (Mustang) and was a little disappointed with the results. I'll have some video and scanned charts up soon but here are the raw numbers with no correction factors...

Stock = 257.1 HP @ 2750 RPM / 506.3 TQ @ 2500 RPM

Smarty Beta 4.3 = 402.5 HP @ 2500 RPM / 926.9 TQ @ 2250 RPM

Smarty Beta 4.4 = 399.3 HP @ 2500 RPM / 910.1 TQ @ 2250 RPM

Runs were done at about 4500' of elevation with ambient temp around 70*. I was expecting closer to 450hp but what can you do. Looks like a gain of 142.2 HP and 403.8 TQ going from stock to Smarty Beta 4.4 on #9. Seems kinda low?

With stock injectors and stock CP3 and stock turbo...the numbers look ok. If you have tons of fuel and tons of air.... SW9 makes more power than SW5 or SW7...ask PourinDiesel. Adding a downloader to a virtually bone stock truck and getting 150/400 additional is great to me. It's not 240/600 I thought Beta was good for but its something. ks

Ok, well then that's even weirder than my low #'s.

I can feel a HUGE difference between #3 & #9. Not even comparable on mine. I thought about trying #7 instead of the stock run, but really wanted a baseline. It seems pretty low too at only 257 stock. You usually hear about 270-280 stock, I think.

Robert, I had 3 runs to work with...and 2 beta versions, the standard wild program, and stock to choose from. Nobody claimed to be some expert tuner, just posting my results from a couple of runs.

Yeah, it's just weird because so many people have dyno'd Smartys on a stock truck and they always seem to get right around the 170 they claim. I don't know, maybe it would be 450+ at sea level on a Dynojet???

Was this with a stock turbo? Also from what I've seen dynojet and mustang numbers aren't comparable. My truck made 90hp difference on the same day on both dynos. The numbers look pretty good to me.On a mustang with BD Scarry Larry with htt sled puller 66 turbo and 80 hp injectors my truck made 440 hp. With the Juice on level 3 stacked with it it made 511 hp with spinning tires but now i've got 4 melted pistons. Go figure. Eitherway mustangs are just hard to dyno on and manuals due better than autos on them.

Yes...stock turbo? What was your rail pressure? Lift pressure?

Did the smoke clear?

Remember what Smarty just did on Shane's truck..."properly" aired.

Yeah, stock turbo. Don't have a rail gauge yet but post-filter was 14psi or higher at all times.

The smoke cleared up to just a haze. You can't even really see the haze on the video.

I wish I could try the dyno Shane used!!

He most likely had a 10-12% correction factor...

But either way he had a 500 plus truck. Who's Mustang did you use?

It was at Gillett Diesel in SLC. They had the only dyno I could find open to the public around here.

Here's a pic of the dyno sheet...

And the video...

Not enough air or not enough fuel?
