the race cover utilizes a slip-on boot connection... whereas the regular S400 uses a v-band connection. also, I don't really think the race cover comes into play untill you get into the 80+mm compressor wheel.

How much air/min and or HP is the race cover worth? I thought the race cover had a center bore to accept an 80mm compressor, whereas the 171702 is for the 74 or 76mm compressor inducer.

You can go up to a 80mm on the standard cover but the inner ring get's thin. The race cover can go upwards of 88mm. It dpends on who you talk to about hp gains. The AR isn't that different between the two so I wouldn't give the race cover a huge edge in hp potential.

I did talk to one of rips guys and he told me thay sould know soon but as of now he s not sure if it will fit, just wonted to see if some one tryed it yet . There is a race cover with the 4.21 inch v-band outlet, just got one for my 80mm s-400 on my ride
