Quad Race...Help. Which SBC clutch?
Installed Quad Race box about a week ago. Like many others my stock clutch won't hold 100 hp level under hard acceleration in 5th and 6th gear. Of course its much worse on 140 hp level. Which SBC clutch would be best if I don't do any other mods . Don't want a real heavy clutch pedal feel. Thanks in advance.

I have the (I think) Con OFE that is rates at 450 hp and 1000 tq, it holds all the quad power with out any slipping. The pedel feels same as stock except it ingauges lower to the floor. I would definately recommend getting the SBC.

Thanks BH! Thats the kind of info I am looking for. I see you have basically the same truck as I do. Another question. I have noticed the egt's will get up there (1300 and I back off throttle) and peg my 30 psi boost gauge on the 140 setting. My thinking is that if I want to use all the power of the Quad Race box I will have to replace the stock turbo (Super B or ?)and possibly get rid of the 3.5 inch downpipe to my 4'' Donaldson muffler. Sorry so long. Just thinking. Opinions on this idea? Thanks again!

I don't think you'll like the FE very much, especially if your girlfriend/wife has to drive it. It's pretty much an on/off switch. Backing a trailer won't be fun either. The clutch will chatter and grab. The OFE allows some slip and is much easier to drive.
I went ahead and got the organic dual disc. I know the FE will hold, but I wanted the driveability of an organic clutch. I'll report on driveability next week.

I know what you mean about the EGT's, I have a sr8t pipe and mine are pretty managable. I really don't use the 140 setting very often, but when I do, I'm hitting around 32-34# of boost and she is running pretty strong. I usually don't stay in it for long periods of time. I guess thats why the EGT's are not a big problem. I also tow about 7,000# on the 60 hp setting with no problems. I was thinking a new turbo and a pusher pump will put her right were I want her. Whats your fp running at? I'm hitting 0 at wot and 5-7 at idle depending on the temp.. Hence the pusher, been seeing a lot of threads on here in reference to that so that will be the next mod then the turbo..

Thanks again all! BH I don't have a FP gauge yet so I have no idea on the FP. The dual disk organic sounds interesting. My wife does not drive the truck much at all. The FE sounds good for the future turbo upgrade however I do tow a race trailer and the chattering and bucking does concern me a little. Sounds like all I need to be completely done with the truck is a dual disk organic SBC, Super B turbo, 4'' downpipe to muffler, pusher pump, FP gauge, sack full of money, sack full of money, oh yea almost forgot, SACK FULL OF MONEY!!! . I love this truck!!
