Swap me for my factory black grille and maybe the paint will stick better? I don't know for sure, just a suggestion.

Try Krylon Fusion. It's specifically made for plastics.

When I painted my chrome center caps I used Duplicolor adhesion promoter. It worked very good. I made sure they were clean and wiped them down with a prep wipe. A couple of coats of the adhesion promoter, then some color and finally a bunch of clear coat. You can find it at any auto parts store. So far it has been holding up without any chipping or peeling. I've been thinking of doing the same to the grill to match my center caps, and badges. Hear is link to my post with pictures. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t=black+chrome

I just hit mine w/ a roloc pad /DA sander and primered.......sprayed w/ mercury outboard paint. Looks all-right to me ? The chrome is a pain in the butt to prep tho
