Whats the opinions? Any drawbacks? My truck is in need of some money right now and I am thinking it is a good time to trade it in and move on to a newer one. Just as I was educated on the 2nd gens Anything special you guys are aware of to look for on the 3rd gens.

 

depends on the exact year you are looking for. the early 05's came with plastic intercoolers....if you're gonna tow with any more than stock boost, its bound to blow. Might want to look at the lift pump and see if its in-tank or not...external lift pumps have been known to fail somewhat often. DC will replace it with an in-tank set up. 05 and 06 trucks with automatic transmissions DON'T have kick down cables but rather an actuator controlling shifts....which makes for a pain dialing in a good aftermarket tranny. there was a 05.5 for 6speeds, the change from the NV5600 to the G56.

i could ramble on even more. it would be a good idea to get a truck in mind then post what exact truck it is.
