stock 03' Smarty dyno results

Dyno'd saturday 3/17/07. (edit: dyno graph added at bottom of post.)

My truck is stock other than the Smarty, Banks 6 gun, and an amsoil cone filter intake.

I ran the truck stock with just the amsoil filter of course and numbers were
229HP/476TQ

Next I downloaded the Smarty and went stragith to #9, because there were others at the dyno day and I didn't want to take up a lot of time.

Truck then laid down 385HP/782TQ. That is 156HP increase and 306 TQ increase with just my downloader which is advertised at 130HP for the 03 and 04 trucks. Bob said that the Smarty puts down more than advertised in most cases, well sir, you are correct.

I then ran the truck witht he SMARTY on 9 and I then turned on the Banks 6 Gun to level 3. This has always gave the best SOP feel. 412HP/820TQ which was my best for the day.

I then turned the Banks to 6 (max setting) and left SMARTY on 9.
I lost power, which I expected. 404HP/812TQ

So you 03 guys, if you're looking for a mod that will yield you better than advertised results and have many many different tunes to suit to your specific need, the Smarty is for you.

Sorry, I do not know what version software I am running on the Smarty, I will ifnd out today, and post an edit here.

Sorry for being so long winded, lots of info I wanted to put in here. Any questions on anything that the gauges were showing just ask me.

Are those SAE, STP or DynoJet numbers?

And I bet its a HO since wheel torque is allready higher than the SO output.

That is a completely stock tranny, so I imagine with an efficient converter and VB I could pick up 1 or 2 HP.

That is using SAE. I am not sure what I need to use though. Like I said, this was my first ever Dyno Runs. I just left it on SAE, as that is what the files were brought in at from the email from the shop.

Yes, it is an HO.

I wasn't implying there was a power loss (although now that you mention it, it would be more than 1 or 2). I was wondering how long it will last at 400HP?

I don't know PJ, I ain't leavin it at the 400 level. Saturday was the first day back with Smarty as I had let Streetsmoker borrow it to play with, and he has had it about 2 months, so I had some fun with it Saturday on the way home, then yesterday messin with guys around town that have been pickin on me since I Let john borrow it. I have it set back to level 1 with the banks off now, to preserve fuel and the trans....

Happy, those were good numbers for the amount of mods you have! Glad to see the Smarty perform better than advertised. Makes your mouth water for the tranny mods though, doesn't it?

If i can just get my truck between 375 and 400 i think I will be happy but I like to stay on the factory charger as long as I can, the dang tranny is gonna eat me up.

haha, yeah I noticed that.. it was allright though. Once we got to there I knew where I was.

Hey man, I am still on the stock turbo to.. I don't think I am over working it, someone else might think different, but with the Smarty I am seeing 32 psi with spikes of 35 on hard runs.. I don't think it will blow it at that range, but I might better research that a lil more and be able to say "I know" instead of "I think"

Nice numbers. How did you like the Smarty w/ Six Gun stack and what did your EGT's hit? I've been thinking of getting one myself but wasn't sure how well it would work. Guess I will now.

I am not crazy about the 6 gun because it governs you when it is run alone. Now when I run the Smarty with it, the Smarty takes over and the Banks no longer cuts in and out.

Best power for me was with Smarty on 9 and banks on 3. This is not uncommon when stacking. You have to play with them to find the best power and best power is not always with everything turned all the way up.

EGT's on the dyno runs were around 1300. If you do a WOT run on the street it will get to hot, and it will do that with just the SMARTY so I say that gauges are a must with the SMARTY if you are gonna beat on it.
