I remember seeing this on a previous thread, but the search function came up blank, anyhow, has anyone painted their chromed plastic grille shell? Just normal prep? (Scuff, prime, paint, clearcoat) How is the paint holding up? bugs, ect. Thinking of painting mine while I have it off. Thanks.

 

i picked up a ST shell and painted it to match.

 

I painted mine with Krylon Fusion...supposed to be perfect for painting plastic...no prep.

It doesn't last...not in my case at least. I have to repaint it every few months or so. A pro job might be better but I didn't want to pay for one just yet.

 

I did the same thing. I picked it up off eBay for about 40 bones and had it professionally painted. Over 15k miles later it is holding up very well.

 

JC Whitney has a snap on chrome grille goody, that snaps right over the original

 

cjhauler, I have a black ST grille that I would trade for a chrome one, let me know if interested.
