First few miles with the new clutch, need advice

Okay, I FINALLY finished putting in the OFE, I know some guys say they can do it in 6 hours or something, took me w-a-y- longer than that.

When I was feeding the push rod of the hydraulic upgrade through the firewall the rod came apart from the master, I just poked it back in and carried on.
When the job was done though I couldn't get the neutral safety switch to engage, I had to pull it off and jumper the wiring to start it. I noticed the factory set up had a plastic sleeve on the push rod, when you push in the clutch the sleeve goes into the switch and makes the connection, the SB unit doesn't have anything on the push rod, I really can't see how it's even sposed to work..?

Got about 12 miles on the new clutch, I noticed it's hard to go into 1st and reverse, at times I can feel the tranny turning even though my foot is to the floor on the pedal even with no free play at the top so I'm releasing as much as I can. Will this improve as I break it in or ???
It feels like it's not releasing all the way...?

Will call Peter in the morning...

You re having some issues with your slave (hydros). Peter will get you fixed up. And lots of the ppl that have done these clutches in little time are usually nv5600s, the G56 DMF amounts to quite abit extra time. Hope you get it fixed.

The 1st and reverse have been a little hard to engage on mine also since the ofe install.It hasn't got any better in 15k miles.Some days are worse than others.Over all I wouldn't call it bad and I'm use to it,both my 01 3500's w/NV5600's are the same way with stock clutches.

Thanks.
I can't see what the issues could be though, it almost seems like my clutch throw out isn't getting enough movement but I'll post again after I talk to him.

<EDIT>
Just had a thought, maybe I gat air in the line, how would you bleed the system?

X2 on the bleeding thing. Just finishing up putting a SB in my truck and at one point I accidently pushed the pedal with the clutch out. I didn't pop the piston right out or lose any fluid but now the pedal feels really soft.

Can the system be bled?

When I first put mine in I was dissappointed as it was hard to get into reverse and first but after awhile it slowly got better to the point where it is the same as it was stock, probably between 10k and 20k km's cant say that I had much of a problem with the safety switch but will check it out and report back if I see anything that might help . Doubt it will make a difference for you but I'm sure you know the rod can be adjusted to put the pedal where you want it to release.

Just called SB, Peter's off today so I spoke to someone else. He told me to go out and just drive the thing, the more stop and go city driving the better, once everything gets broken it I'll be fine. I just hope it doesn't take 10k kms...

I mentioned the clutch switch, he told me there shound be a thicker part on the rod that engages the switch, all I have is the rod with the locknut, I think I'm missing something. Going to take a picture and email it to them.

<EDIT>
Got home from work, the push rod is thicker at the pedal end than the firewall end, plugged it in and now it works, don't ask me why it didn't yesterday...?
