Justin, you need to get yourself some big honed injectors, turn that **** on yer pressure box as far as you can to the right and live happily ever after.

Don,
I totally agree with you on the pressure boxes being bad.

Hopefully someday I can ween myself off of the pressure addiction.
So far I have stopped using my Ramifier completely for about the last 6 months.

Next, I'll have to get rid of my BDDL.

Sort of like a 12 step program...

Everything in moderation!

Honing, pressure, head studs, rpm, injector size, boost, etc, etc.

To grab HP headlines...some vendors push the limits a bit.

Don~

yea like piers, sheid, mitchells, jeff garmon as well as some new comers

Don M i will give credit where credit is due you build some awsome stuff

Back to the original post..moral of the story some good stixs/press box on very low setting/tst twins/66mm turbine of your choice is making as much power as most will ever need/want.

I think the real story here is that the 3rd gens are making some unreal power that can be clean, very fast, streetable, relatively cheap that is with 100hp stix at DDP's price

Injector threads…… I realize the forum is picking up new members all the time, but sometimes I am surprised at how quickly us "been there, done that" members forget.

I try and be a little more reserved about jumping on the band-wagon myself. It is quite simple and predictable actually. We have been watching the same thing happen for the last 2 years. Once the introductory offer is over, prices even out, their tips are in use in appreciable numbers for 6+ months, then the real facts will start coming in. Until then, we are seeing word-of-mouth injector advise (based on first impressions) from people who just had their first-set-ever installed for them. Not knocking on anyone who just got them and posted their opinion as that is exactly what we want to see (and keep it up!), but those watching might consider taking it for face value and not reading in to it too much….it is just an "opinion."

It is funny to watch though…..If your a signature watcher (like me), you will see a phrase in some people's signature that says "Box of the month club." These are the folks that can never decide and have to try the latest and greatest performance box every time a new one comes out. Injectors are the same way. Every time a new injector comes out, people get it, people talk good about it, resulting in more people getting it, resulting in more people talking good about it....you see where this is going. When DD's first injectors came out (the very first retail aftermarket injector made for our 3rd Gens), they were the shiznit and life was great! Then KAX's injectors came out and they were the injector to have and you could do no better. Then Dr. P's injectors came out and they were the "injector of the month" and you could do no better. Then Don's injectors came out and they were the "injector of the month" and you could do no better. Then II's injectors came out and they were the "injector of the month" and you could do no better. Disclaimer: Manufacturer list not all inclusive and injector release chronology not necessarily in that order. Now DDP's injectors are out and they are the "injector of the month" and you can do no better. Very predictable. I would caution most not to get caught up in it too early because there really may be some that are better than others and it may not be the latest offering. You need facts to determine that, not just word-of-mouth performance results, and facts take time.

With that said, no one has injectors as cheap as DDP. If you want an aftermarket injector and price is the overriding issue for you, you had better jump on DDP's offer now....don't wait. They want to get their product out there in decent numbers for word of mouth advertising, like what you are reading on the forums, and at the end of February their introductory offer is over and they go up three-fold, starting at $900+ if you do the leg work, and that is per DDP. So don't delay!

All I can say is that Dynomite's injectors are not new. Back in Sept. when I had some money to spend on the truck I contacted them after seeing their ad in Diesel Power Magazine. They had the 70hp ver. then at the cost of $850 I think. I later decided to put the money in my tranny instead, and wait till I got a bigger turbo before getting some injectors.

On a side note I would like to know if the 70hp honed tips from DDP would be a safe and reliable uprade to stock injectors? So what do you think Don?

Facts!!!!

I'm not a friend or do I know DON M,But I will say this!!!! I have an 03 Dodge and I test the products we use and sell before ,we will sell them to a customer, and I can tell you this ,after spending $6000 dollars on injector in my personal truck!!! If you run just a small box and want honed injectors you will be fine, but if you have a TST and Rail box,and you use honed injectors,It will lose power after you go past about setting number 3!!!!!I will put up my set of Don's Flux's on any given day for a Dyno Event of your chosing and I also have 4 other sets of different vendors injectors that are setting in the floor because I refuse to sell anyone something that will cause the problems that I have seen!!! If you want a real comparisom of injectors, show me these 3 things!!! #1 Show me a honed injector that doesn't smoke at idle!!!! I have 3 sets that I can show you do,and they vary from 40,60 and 100hp!!! #2 Show me a back to back MPG Comparision and I'll win every time!!! #3 If they can't make 600 hp and the rail pressure not be below 20,000,then you lose again, because I couldn't keep the rail with a honed injector above 10,000,to save my life, and this was with 80 pound at the inlet of the CP3,I'm not posting the maker of the injectors,to save a brand war,but Just offering to save you some money in the long run, that if you think all injectors are created equal???????Then get ready to spend some major change, cause I already have and can tell you, that it's not worth it!!!!!!

So how much would a set of Don's injectors be? Hey Don, I just read your thread about pressure boxes and the broblems they cause over at nwbombers forum. Have you seen any problems in trucks running the Edge Juice, or those who are stacking boxes? The only problem on mine that I have noticed at all, is slightly more rattling during slow deceleration at 65-75mph. I rarely run them both at the high settings. 90% of my driving is done with the BDPP on lev.1 and adjusting the Edge at will. With the most common setting set at 3 on the Edge. I just think I'm a little parranoid after reading all the "BAD" news. Thanks.

FYI I have no smoke at IDLE or any other time. It does not matter if the box is on or off. In fact I was smokin at cold startup and running rough till it warmed up. Not any more. Truck runs as smooth as a gas car in perfect tune. I think DDP knows what they are doing and I am a very happy customer. If your worried about milage then dont mod your truck to make more power. That should be a given.

Blowin Smoke how big a hone job did you have done on the injectors you tested? my stock injectors were about 21lpm if im correct and they were honed to 25lpm. I can see havin problems if you were to go nuts and hone em out to 28lpm or more. I would assume that the more they are honed the greater the chances you have a problem. I cant comment on the injectors sold by any other makers out there. Im sure there are great quality ones available but show me where I can get a 60-70 hp gain and a smoother running truck for $300. Hell even if the injectors need to be replaced in 100 000 kms I dont care. Id do it again and I would have no problems payin another $800 to do it. Its great bang for the buck!

**** I sent Ross from DDP an email and asked him to chime in on this one with some tech info. ****

That's what I'm talk'n 'bout right there…..spend the $300 and get yourself BOMBED! You can always put on a different tip later if you find you don’t like them…and I'm sure someone will buy those tips from you for the $300 you have invested as they will be $900+ in a few weeks!!!!!!!!

Can someone tell me how to contact ddp, phone # or web site so I can give them a call. And dont forget when you play you pay, people want power and no sacrifice in equipment, that just doesnt happen. HP= loss of reliability every time, in some way shape or form something will bust.

I did not have my stock ones done,I just ordered the injectors in the 40,60 and 100 horse versions,So as to how much they are honed,I'm not sure!!!!
