Thumbs up DDP injectors installed. WOW!!!!

Well I just got home from my trip down to see the guys at DynoMite Diesel in Monroe Washington. I ended up having them hone my injectors out to approx a 70hp gain. Basicly from approx 21lmp (liters per min.) to 25lpm. With my quad box on the mid (65hp ) setting and stock injectors the truck made 337.5 hp and 624 tq. With the Quad box on the mid setting and the injectors done it made 402.4 hp and 749 tq. Im not goin to run the box on hi till the trans and RASP pump are in as it is pretty obvious that the stock trans will not take the power and I dont want to burn out the CP3. Im really liking the feel of the injector power its very smooth and linear. The truck idles smoother starts up cold smoother and all round seems very happy. As far as EGTs go cruzin on the hwy at 70 mph my temps are actualy down 50-100* and at WOT the do seem to climb a bit faster but not as fast as I expected. Im very happy with the mod and would not hesitate to have DDP do more work on my truck. They are a great bunch of guys very friendly and the certainly know what they are doing. I was there at 8am and was out the door by noon. Excelent work great power and an awsome price ($650)

I thought the general concensus was that no one was doing the injectors on the 04.5's with good results. I guess that ends that debate. I know that DPP has their big sale on right now for $300 until the end of the month but I cant do without my truck that long. Do they offer an exchange price for a core? Did they tell you about what other hp increments they can hone them in? If possible I would like to do mine just once and get the max for my application.

They got 50s and 90s, the 70s where "special" for him. They will send you the nozzles for 150, you do the work yourself and it is a 1500 dollar core.

I think they can go up to 28 or 29 lpm. Im guessing thats well over 100hp gain but they would be the ones to talk to about what your lookin for.You may not need the injectors to make 600hp in the 3rd gens. I did it because of the sale and i wanted a smother running truck that got better milage.Basicly for me it was a cheap gain in HP and economy. The major upside to it is the honig process polishes the stress risers out of the injectors thus making them stronger (same idea as polishing a connecting rod) Thus they can take more pressure.

What setting of the quad with factory injectors would compare to box off and just injectors?

Id say the 100hp. The power feels different. Its much smoother & seems to build boost faster. With the truck on the mid setting and the injectors if I pull out on the hwy and punch it to pass it slips the hell out of the trans and it has never done that before.Guess I need to start savin up. LOL

Thumbs up

The more I drive the truck the happier I am with the injectors. Man does this thing run smooth now. In my mind this should be the first performance mod done right after a full set of guages. With the box off the truck runs awsome. With the box on its kiss the tranny bye bye.

Ahhhh no. The overhead is off because the ECM doesn't know about the extra flow capacity of the new injectors. At a given load the ECM has to command less duration and you don't have to mash the go-pedal as hard. It makes the overhead lie.
