anyone read the dec edition of diesel power mag

If anyone has read this mag yet,, the story on the transmission, well that was the very tranny that was in my truck, and probably would still be, excepty for a flawed mag hytec deeppan, (the same one in the pic) There was a flaw in the casting of the pan, and it allowed air into the pickup tube for the tranny filter. Anyways, the replacement has been great, and the service was excellent

Just thought I would share

Kevin

That's pretty cool! Wonder if the gray truck in the pic is a member here.

Morkable, you seem to be pretty knowledgable and I usually read all your posts. (good info)
You mind telling me how much $ total for the trans? Did you install it yourself?
Thanks, Austin

I have been dealing with Barry and the guys for stuff for my F350 a while, they seem to know their ford stuff pretty good, but they are excellent when it comes to cummins power.
They are the ones who talked me out of a Ford and into the Dodge.
Check out their web site for a vid of a truck that runs in the 11's

Thanks,, I had them install it ( i cant remember for sure as I had a bunch of stuff done at once) but I think it was either 5 grand or 5500. I also paid extra for the flexplate and for the deep pan (which ultimately caused my first tranny to fail) I also had the turbo and fass system and mag hytec rearend cover put in at the same time, the total bill including gst was around 11.

there is a fellow in Ft McMurray named Shaun Ellerington. I think that he is the end all be all of ford performance. I know that when the guys in Edmonton have a question that they cant answer they call him up and he either knows the answer or he will figure it out.
