I have personal experience with the Rokkteck and loved it... I am now on their waiting list for a 5" muffler for my new exhaust......

I had a 4040L on the 05 QC that I traded in on my current truck. I was very pleased with it. EGT's were down about 100 degrees compared to stock. The new mega cabs have an additional resonator behind the muffler which really helps take the edge off of the muffler delete straight pipe or I would have put an Aeroturbine on the new truck as well.

I have a 4040L sitting in my garage right now. I ran it for about 3 days and hated it. It sounds like a ricer fart can muffler on a diesel. It is louder than stock, but it is not a diesel rumble like the big rigs. My rokktech should be in tomorrow... We'll see how that goes.

06's sound like fart cans anyway!! The stock resonator does it.

Loose the stock muffler and resonator and put the Aeroturbine 4040L right behind the cat.

I have had nothing but compliments on the sound of mine!

Mine didn't come with the resonator. Just a big cat.

I have the 4040XL and I too have had lots of compliments on the way it sounds. Everybody I talk to tells me how bad my truck sounds.

If you go with the 4040XL, install it as far to the rear of your truck as possible. I made the mistake of installing it 4 inches behind the cat and the drone was terrible. Then I took it off and installed it 4 inches in front of the bend that goes up over the rear Axle.(further to the rear than the stock muffler) The drone isn't bad at all now, very little

Aeroturbine

Sound is one of those personal preference things and if you like or think you like the sound then buy it,... if you're buying it for some performance edge then forget it. I had one on mine early on in my quest for mods and the dyno says it does zero. I offer this not to slam this or anyother product but just so you do it for the right reasons. Hope this helps.

Like Rick I get a lot of compliments on the sound from my truck with the 4040xl. I installed in exactly where the old one was. Not much louder than stock in side the cab, good rumble outside.

I have one, I like it when I am not towing anything, but when you hook to a trailer the drone was horrible! So now I have the Aero and a MBRP 30" right behind it. I am much happier with the exhaust note while towing now.

With just the Aero it was a touch louder at idle, and sounded pretty good getting on the skinny peddle. It will never sound like my old 98, but it was definantly better than the stock monsterously huge exhaust the truck came with. The build quality was great, and I have had no problems other than BIG drone while pulling.
