Has anyone bought the aero turbine muffler, I am curious about the 3 to 4 mpg there claiming. The web site is aero-turbine.com

 

There's been lots of discussion on mufflers like that here. Try a search in the 3rd gen engine and trans as well.

3-4 mpg improvement by swapping out a muffler? On my truck that'd be a 22% improvement (with only a muffler change? - nah). It may be possible if you're using mirrors and lots of handwaving. May cut down on the EGT's a bit though.

 

 

the claims i saw on the aeroturbine for the ctd were in the neighborhood of 1-2 mpg. the duramax and psd had higher mpg returns.
i installed a banks 4" system and saw a 4 mpg gain in my hiway driving - broke the 20s with 22 mpg....real ;D
still working on a good average for daily driving use that is a mix of city and hiway

 

I have an Aeroturbine on my truck along with a complete 4" exhaust kit. I didn't notice much change in mileage. I did notice a pretty good drop in EGT's though. Not to mention, I really like the sound. 8) ;D

 

ersll - I just replaced my stock muff with the aero. I noticed no diff in milage either. I do not have a pyro yet.

I like the sound above 1500rpm.
