Well, it's easy to tell when the new PowerFlameChokers are in regen!

What are the indicators that it is in regen mode?? I have heard that it will only regen when above idling. Mine was sitting for about 10 minutes idling one time when it started to idle a little different. Don't know if that was regen or not.

Mine regened at 4800 miles. The overhead console reads "catalyst full", then "80% full", thats when you drive for 45 minutes at highway speeds so it can regen. The display says nothing else after that unless you don't drive for around 45 minutes, then it will read "85%, 90% 95%, 100% full" when it hits 100% full the computer will derate the engine so not to cause damage, and you have to take the truck to the dealer so they can clean the DPF for you.

If true, this is indescribably ridiculous. So what, do you grab a 12 pack, your girl, and go roadloadin' while it regens? I guess we should at least be thankful they aren't spitting flames (yet). Man, I have been thinking of trading, but when I really think about it, all I want is the new tranny.

A fully built 48re would probably be a better tranny than the factory 6 spd autos.

You should never know when your truck goes into regen. I knew at first because of the lack of ULSD and it smoked some, but since it has become available I haven't been able to tell it for the last 20,000 miles or so. There is no increase in idle speed or anything else like some of the other brands talk about. It does it while going down the road and you never know it.

CAUTION - 6.7L CUMMINS DIESEL EMISSIONS SYSTEM

CAUTION:: Your new Cummins 6.7L diesel meets EPA Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Emissions Standard (HDDE07) resulting in the lowest emitting diesel ever produced.
To achieve this standard, your Dodge Ram truck is equipped with state of the art engine and exhaust emissions systems. The engine and exhaust system work in an integrated manner which allows your exhaust system catalysts to trap and burn particulate matter pollutants.

Under very limited circumstances, your engine and exhaust system may not be able to create the conditions necessary to burn off trapped pollutants. If this situation should occur, the interior overhead message center will display a message warning you of this condition (“Catalyst Full See Owner Man”). By simply changing your driving style for as little as 40 minutes. you can change this condition and allow the trapped pollutants to be burned off.

If you do not change your driving style, the messages will continue. The engine control module will take action to protect your catalyst system from permanent damage.

Your Owners Manual provides a more detailed description of the driving styles which could create this condition as well as the modified driving style that will allow complete burning of the trapped pollutants.

In the event that the warning messages continue, the electronic engine control module will take action by significantly reducing performance to protect your exhaust catalyst system. A final message, “ Check Engine” will require you to visit your dealer. Your dealer is equipped with the necessary information and equipment to alleviate the condition without damage.

To meet more stringent emissions standards, your new engine requires use of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel and Low Ash Oil, API CJ-4. Also it is important to adhere to required fuel filter maintenance intervals including periodic drain of water when in cab warning is illuminated. Failure to do so could result in severe engine and exhaust system damage.

For additional information, refer to your Owner's Manual.

I know that was basically already said, just wanted to post it as it was stated in the FSM. Didn't see anywhere about a percentage full or anything though.
