DPF and regeneration on the 6.7?

I have been reading some horror storied on the Dieselstop.com about Ford's 6.4 regeneration. One person had this happen to him while idling in the garage and it melted his plastic storage shelves and the shelf fell dumping everything on his truck. They are saying the idles jumps to about 1200 rpm and you can't hold your hand within 4 feet of the exhaust flow.

Is any of this happening to 6.7 owners? Does the 6.7 have a regeneration cycle. If so, what are your indications it is happening.

A friend of mine has a 6.4 on order and he is considering not taking delivery.

Are you talkin' about the fire-out-the-tailpipe thing with the 6.4s? Nope, I haven't heard or read about it with the 6.7s. Do a search on "regeneration"

I think that was an option on the fords not offered on the dodge. That could come in handy for clearing unwanted brush....or garage clutter...or national forests.

your 6.7L will not regen at idle.

(and apparently the 6.4 will not anymore after you get the reflash).
