Anybody notice regeneration yet?

I am a tech and was wondering if anybody has noticed any active regeneration of the particulate filter yet? Reason I ask is somebody over on thedieselstop metioned that they thought their 08 Furd was going into high idle on it's own when in gear and with high ambient temps. Some were convinced that he was experiencing regeneration(even when stoped at a light in gear??) One person even suggested it's a normal part of these new trucks and all manufaturers will do the same thing.
I have not heard of any complaints on the 6.7l Cummins yet, surely if this is normal operation for the new trucks somebody on here must have had it happen since the 6.7 has been out longer than the 6.4PSD.

In the Dodge truck, the engine will not regen the DPF at idle. It will stay in "regen" if you stay in drive with your foot on the brake (ie at a stop light), but if you put it in Park, it will exit regen.

Hasn't happened to mine in the 3500 miles I've driven it.

It has happened to me a number of times. I have stated that in several posts. It will happen when stopped and at idle and also while going down the road. I don't consider it a "problem" because when I first got my truck, (11-21-06) there was no ULSD available in my area and I figured that it was burning off the excess soot. Since we have gotten the ULSD I haven't noticed it. I also saw the post on Dieselstop. When mine has done it there was no noticable difference of the engine, it didn't go into high idle like the ford owners said, it just put out quite a bit of blue white-smoke. This lasted for 15 - 30 seconds then was over.

I probably have the first 6.7 C & C on this board. It now has over 28,000 miles on it with absolutely no problems. It pulls a trailer everyday in the oilfields. I just got back from Ok. about an hour ago. I'm schedualed to go to Houston tomorrow if it ever stops flooding there. My truck is stock and will probably stay that way. The Aisin transmission is warrantied for 180k miles, so I for sure won't be doing anything before that.

That's exactly what I was wanting to know. It seems like it would be a safety concern if the engine throttles up on it's own while you are stopped.
