code p0406

EGR POS SENS VOLTS TO HI.
Service dept. says that my afe stage II mega cannon or any open air intake will cause that code. They won't check for problem with egr unless I put factory box back on and bring back. What is yalls opinion. I calll bs. Said unhooking battery cables won't clear all codes. I asked him if they cleared them with starscan he siad yes so I'll see but I bet not.

I believe it. There is another thread here somewhere where guys were running the stock 5.9l airfilter and it was causing CELs due to flowing too freely (supposedly). I have had one on my truck for the past couple days with no issues yet. Running that filter was giving some guys 1-2 mpg gains but my mileage looks about the same so far. It may even have gone down some....

Just to add I have had it on for about 20,000 miles.

Well, a MOPAR tech posted on one of these sites a bulletin from Dodge saying that any aftermarket intakes or filters on a 6.7 should be reported for posible warranty restrictions. I would put the stock stuff back on anytime I went to the dealer. If you had that intake on there for that long than we all know it is not the problem though....

Picked up the truck last night. They wanted me to put stock stuff back on, bring it in this morning and they would clear code and see what happened. I went to auto zone and had code cleared. Knock on wood nothing yet.

Knock on wood, this is the only code my truck has thrown in her current 15xxx miles. It came on right after the dealer installed the AO flash at 13000 miles. I cleared it with my personal code reader (dealership said it would be over a week before they could even take a look at it) and it has not come back on. I have no intake modifications but at my 20000 mile oil change I will be replacing the stock air filter with an Amsoil nanofiber filter.

Some OBDII scanners just loop it in with p0400. When i did the key trick to pull the code it came back p0406 but when i ran my scanner it came back p0400. Both are EGR related issues.
