One other thing to think of is that the auto tranny is a $1,575 option on a new truck. If you take that money and sink it into a better clutch, it's more of a wash.

I can't comment on the G56 because I have an NV5600. It's been terrific, and when pulling loads I have never regretted getting the manual tranny. The only time I hate it is when I'm just running around town (city driving) in rush hour, etc.
