Why Does Engine Speed Fluctuate?
When the engine is cold, and truck is coasting with clutch in or in neutral, the engine speed fluctuates between 700 to 1000 rpm. As soon as I come to a stop, the idle locks in at 700 rpm. Everything seems normal, just curious.

Mine does it also. My guess it's something to do with programming of the speed sensor vs. engine rpms.
I usually wait until the rpms is down to less than 1k before engaging the clutch.
