How much does your oil pressure fluctuate?

I got my 05 CTD today, i love it. but i noticed that when i am rolling to a stop the oil pressure drops all the way to the front bar, it doesnt go into the danger level, but it does go to the bar. When i start rolling again it comes up to around 40 pounds. Is this normal? Seems like alot of fluctuation. Do i need to take it to the dealership for a look? Does anyone else's CTD do this?

I had a 2002 chevy duramax before I bought my Dodge and it would do that quite a bit. Before I realized it I was delivering something for work abot 3 hrs from home and looked down while at a stoplight and said OMG!!! I haven't noticed my CTD doing it yet but I figure it will eventually.

Your guage on an 05 is only make believe anyway.Do a oil pressure guage search for third gens and you,ll see.I installed a real guage ,and at operating temp it ranges from 20-25 (idle) to about 65 (at highway speed).Almost 100 at cold highway speed.

Yep, it is nothing more than a gauge. And here is the best part.... it doesn't trip the check gauges light until it drops to 6 psi!!! Why they waste the time engineering and taking up that space on the dash is a mystery to me.
