where does your oil pressure run

Hello, on a stock gauge where does your oil pressure run. Mine is right after the first block at idle and exactly half way when driving. Does this sound about right for a 138,000 93 diesel? Thanks

Yep mine runs on the low side of the center section on idle and almost on the line of the high side of the center section driveing. This does depend on atmospheric conditions a little and ambient temp. No kiddin it does.

Mine hangs just below the first notch regardless of rpm.

Here is where mine is now after I repaired the connections, before this it was anywhere between NO oil pressure and the first left hand mark, and it had me worried.

Check and clean the connections first.

This was at an Idle.

See the link above.

Now I just have to figure a way to fix the bottom gauge, for some reason it is always on the "E" mark.

Jim

Yes, But your fuel gauge is a bit low.
My stock gauge sits on the 2nd line and wavers very little,
I put another gauge in,
hot-hot day running 75 mph
20 @ idle
45 down the highway
cold engine
40 idle
75-85 going down the road above 2K rpm.

I had a fluctuating condition on my gage. Some days it would read one thing, the next it would read something different. I ended up replacing the oil pressure sending unit with a $20 part from NAPA. It's a PITA to install because the power steering pump is right smack dab in the way of a socket wrench. I had to unbolt the power steering pump and remove it from the vacuum pump so that I could tighten up the oil pressure unit. IT was about an hour or hour and a half of work.

Now, my gage reads right at the second tick mark from the left at idle and pretty much sits on the third tick mark when running down the interstate. Around town it's right in the middle like the picture above.
