One little puff of white smoke is nothing to worry about. If it smokes for a several seconds after starting and idles rough then you worry. I had one injector replaced then all 6 and every once in a while I get a little puff of white at cold start, but mileage power and idle quality have remained good. Every once in a while I'll get a tank of fuel that is not so good and it runs crappy starts hard and idles funky, then I get a tank of good fuel and she clears up. I have been running the Baldwin filter for the last 30K miles and I believe it does a better job of cleaning up the fuel. I still would like to find a better water separator and add it to my fuel system. I have never found water when I drained the fuel filter housing. I used to find some monthly with my Ferd. It had some serious filtration going on.

Little update on my smoker:

Dropped off to dealership on Monday afternoon. Just got off phone with service department and they are waiting for my injectors so won't have it back until early next week if I'm lucky.

On top of this my 7-month pregnant wife, her sister and mother are down in Georgia / South Carolina area and are worried that they won't be able to make it home on Sunday (we live in Indiana) due to the gas shortages in those areas. The plan was to fuel up the diesel and take them gas if needed but that shoots that plan out the window.
