Sometimes being honest with them will net you better results. If they think you were trying to hide something and found it they would probably be pretty negligent to hospitality.

and I was also fully prepared to tell my wife that I needed 50hp injectors to cure the problem...and a Walbro kit to cure draining the rail...and a turbo to help keep the EGTs down...and a torque converter and valve body upgrade to help the tranny from slipping from my new found HP...and...well, you get the idea.

Yeah, when I lost my trans., I tried to use the 'house' money to pay for it and she said ' I don't think so, if you didn't do those mods. you'd still have your trans.'. Some of the mech. stuff has rubbed off on her finally but at the wrong time.

I have been wondering the same thing...only thing that I can think of is that it is the closest to the high pressure rail (if I'm not mistaken) and when the engine turns off, leaks because it's the first to deal with the high pressures, followed by #2 and so on...I might be off my rocker, but that's all I can think of?

Socal CTD, thank you for posting that video. My 2006 CTD has been doing the white-bluish smoke on start-up for a couple of weeks now. Only does it after sitting for extended periods of time. Only have 26,000 on the truck so I wasn't sure if they just did that after they get broke in.

Going to call the dealer today and see when I can get it in there. Wish me luck!

Also got rear-ended by a Dodge neon last week going to work. Was turning left onto a county road and he hit me running about 40mph. Caught my hitch receiver (lucky for him my hitch wasn't in it) and mangled the front of his car. I don't know how but you cannot see any visible damage to my truck!

No problem bud...they should get ya squared away. It will take them a couple days to get your injectors in and then a couple more to get them put in the truck...shouldn't be too lengthy I wouldn't think. Glad nothing happened to your truck OR you in your accident though...that's always good to hear.

Called the dealer today and will be dropping it off to them Thursday evening so they can start it Friday morning.

Going to change the fuel filter tonight though just to check that out first.

Here is a pic of my truck. Only mods/changes are the hood, rhino liner, tinted windows, step bars and chrome door handles. Oh and a K&N filter. The picture is right after I purchased it though.

Do any of you guys having problems run a fuel additive?
Something sounds wrong when an '06 or '07 are ALREADY needing injectors.
You're all making me wonder a little about my '07 with 30K!
OH, and all of you guys having problems running autos?

Mike

Yes, I tried to run Howe's Meaner Power Cleaner at around 8k miles and it made my truck blow blue smoke and idle rough (just like in my video) and the same with Power Service...while they both increased my mileage, the cold starts with the truck being like they were made me decide against running them. Do I think that they contributed to my injectors going out? Not at all, but the mileage increase isn't worth the bad running engine, I don't think...and yes, I have an auto, although that doesn't matter much. Injectors go out on lots of folks, auto and manual.

I have run power service in almost every tank for 85,000 miles. No injector problems.

I had been using Lucas Fuel Additive but ran out and haven't used anything in a couple of tanks now.

Dropping the truck off tonight so hopefully they find the problem.
