What air pressure in 315 BFG's????
#4
Thanks for the quick feedback, I am running 46 lbs on both and the ride is much better than the stock tires. It almost feels like its a 1500 now!!! No more bone jarring at every bump in the road. My gas mileage seems to be close to the same also.

I called BFG's tech line and told them about my truck and asked what pressure to run. Of course, they went for the maximum payload of the truck per axle. Thses were on 315-70-17 TKO's.
Here is the weight ratings they gave me for psi in tires, I used them to figure out what to run:
front: 40 psi, carries 2685 lbs per tire.
rear: 50 psi, carries 3195 lbs per tire.
I divided the weight by the pressure to get the weight per psi and decided to run 42 front and 38 rear when empty.

I have the same tires/wheels as you. I've been running them at max pres. (I think 50 psi, it's on the sidewall) since the day I got them. Got about 45K miles on them now & will get another 10K - 15K before I get rid of them & they are wearing dead even. They do need to be rotated very 8K miles or so. The ride is good in them too at max pres. I put it at this pressure to maximize the fuel mileage.

I'm running mine at 50psi, the max. My tire dealer told me that I would get the best fuel mileage and tire mileage at this pressure. Sure rides better than those stockers. I have run these tires on 2 other vehicles and easily gotten 60K out of them. I rotate at 7500-8K miles also.

I ran close to the max 48-50psi all the time with my BFG 315s. Got over 55,000 miles out of them. I would not run less that 45psi in the front, too much weight.
