vibration at low speed

Hey guys I'm hoping one of you can help me with a problem I'm having with my 05 ram 3500. I'm experiencing a vibration between 10-15 mph. I have it on acceleration and deceleration both. I do not get a vibration when in neutral, so I wouldn't think it's the tires, I replaced the ujoints since they needed it anyway to no avail, and I just can't figure this out. It vibrates when slowing without my foot on the gas but gets worse if I give it just a little bit of fuel.

Engine was rebuilt 8000 miles ago so I'm wondering if something could have been left loose or something. I first noticed it when pulling my fifth wheel through new Mexico and Arizona, but I'm back on the flat plains of Oklahoma now. It has the vibration when loaded or unloaded. It feels similar to driving on a rumble strip at its worst and barely noticeable when you are looking for it at its best.

I'm not big on drive line type problems so I'm hoping someone here can give me some places to start looking.

Yes it is a 2 piece driveshaft. Everything seems good and tight as far as I can tell. The torque converter should have been installed with my Goerend transmission. The first transmission was in 2009 and I lost it at the end of 2011 and had another installed. I didn't have a problem before the rebuild but I didn't have a problem for 8000 miles after either, so I'm not sure if it's related or not. truck has about 140k on it

If you don't get vibration while stopped that would eliminate torque convertor. Remove front drive shaft and drive, if vibration is still there then I would be looking at rear drive shaft. Mark driveshaft then rotate rear driveshaft 180 degrees relative to front half of rear driveshaft, then retest. Or you can remove drive shaft and have it balanced at driveline shop.

Could be the carrier bearing between the 2 rear shafts is getting bad. They can growl a little bit and create vibrations. Sometimes doing if more when under a load. On some of the older trucks the 2 shafts could be installed out of phase and create a vibration. Don't know how the new trucks are with this but it can create drive line vibration.

Just thought I'd post an update on this since I've had time to get out and drive the truck some more.

I've noticed that I don't seem to get an actual vibration, but the sound of one, if that makes sense. I can feel a slight vibration in the pedal, but it's pretty minimal. I'm also getting a sort of howling when I lightly press the fuel pedal. The howling is bad when accelerating and the rumble strip sound is bad when decelerating.

I'm still wondering if it could be an out of balance driveline. I'm really hoping it's not in the transmission considering I put the Goerend in before I ever started having trouble with the stock transmission hoping to eliminate future problems, and I lost the first one at about 50k, and I'm somewhere around 50k on the replacement one now.

Note the rpm range the sound is detectable and drive through the gears and see if the sound is noticeable at the same rpm but at different speeds.

I can not duplicate the problem at any other speed. It does not seem to be rpm related. The rumble strip sound seems to happen the most when decelerating and the whine or howl seems to happen more on acceleration when I have my foot on the pedal. After looking at the symptoms of an out of balance drive line I'm thinking thats it. Will it hurt anything to keep driving it until I get time to have it checked and balanced?
