Where did you find this info? Have you compared used/virgin oil results to arrive at this conclusion?

I think if you look closely, you'll find that things you think have changed, haven't really changed all that much.
For everyone else who is interested, check out

here read this and get back to me.

I do not know if you need to put this in your truck or not. But you can get some EOS from your local gm dealer. EOS stands for Engine oil Supplement. It has a high count of Zinc in it. Mopar72

Not to hijack this thread but does anybody follow the factory oil change chart? My 06 duramax will go about 9000 miles between changes if I change it when it tells me to. Some of my heavy equpment says go 500 hrs. I change at 5000 miles but have friends that seem to get just as good service that follow it.My brother in law has 250,000 on his gas truck & only change when the oil life tells him to. On my older diesels I used to change every 3000 miles but now go 5000 miles. I wonder are we wasting oil & time?

I like the PBClassic oil they have the PBX & PB. The TBN is 12 on the PBC & is 10 on PBX_PB The oil was changed when the government had the fuel drooped from 500 parts per million to 15 parts per million. That was when all oil was changed from CI-4+ To CJ oil. CJ oil 07 up CI-4+ oil 06 down. our NAPA dealer orders the PDClassic oil for us it only comes in 5gal buckets part #591839 the last i bought was $16.00 per gal.this was in July 08
