John Deere +50 oil

My dad has 55 gal drums of this stuff on the farm. Any reason not to run it in the cummins? He has been running it in his 90 CTD for several years with no probs.

it is 15-40 weight.

Anything in a drum is good if the drum is green and yellow.

One thing to keep in mind is that most oil is only good for about a year before the additives start falling out and end up on the bottom of the barrel. No big deal if you are using quart or gallon jugs which can be shaken up and you use the whole container anyway, but is something to consider with drums. If the oil is old guess you could figure out a way to mix it up to extend it's life.

With the 4 tractors on the farm, his two dodges, and the L9000 a 55 galon drum doesn't last a year alot of times.
