How come....

How come you have 2 sets of injectors made by different people BUT make the same about of power have different amounts of smoke? I thought if you run say DD5s or run BullyDog's 175hp injectors that they will smoke the same cause they are about the same HP level?

Thanks
Bubba

I would guess it has to do with spray patterns and delivery timing. A course pattern burns slower, possibly giving more smoke, while a fine spray burns very fsat and hot, less smoke. Of course, I do not know that much about it and may be blowing smoke myself. Maybe Don M will chime in here, or Infidel or HOHN. They seem to have a good handle on injector performance!!

I would say spray pattern and atomization are the Keys...Determined by # of holes, angle of the holes, smoothness of the holes, etc. Also important is having all six injectors flowing the same volume.
In theory you could get twice as much smoke, but the same HP from one set of injectors over another more efficient and better matched set.
Technology in this area has jumped dramatically over last 18 months...with Don M. and his EDM's leading the pack...IMO!
