tranny upgrade help

i have a 06 cummins and wanted to make about 500-600 hp with it. I want to upgrade the tranny before i start getting the hp in that range. So what i am wondering is what would be some good upgrades to have, and with what brand. I have been quoted $1800 for a suncoast convertor and vb. should i do any other upgrade to the tranny or will this be good enough

Call Mike at All-Star Transmission in Marble Falls. It just did mine, they use suncoast parts. Very nice knowlegeable guy, did a good job for me and few others here on the forum. And from what research I did the price was very fair.

Very wise. Your truck will thank you for it.
For the HP you want, a full rebuild is best way to go. Shop around but stay with one of the experienced companies.
Can't go too wrong with DTT, Suncoast or Goerand Bros, IMO.

If near Dallas, DTT has a very experienced installer in the area. He did mine and it's been trouble free for 140,000 miles.

Where in Texas are you?
Relentless Diesel in Willis is the best place I know of in Texas.

Do you have a name and number or web site for the DTT installer in the Dallas area?

I had relentless do mine along time ago. They are not a DTT installer anymore but I highly recommend them as they have been really good to me helping solve a few issues. I believe they are a suncoast installer now.
