Tranny problems??? (automatic)

06 2500 cummins 53,000 miles automatic. Tranny always shifted fine, tell about 2 days ago. It started shifting funny. I would stop and take off and never wanted to shift into 2nd unless i would rev it up to 2200 rpm let off and let the motor drop to 1500 rpm then it would shift. Then it shifted fine through the rest of the gears after that, until i stopped again. Then lastnight i turned a block corner and tried to accelerate and there was nothing, no 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and no reverse, nothing worked it just revved up. Reverse always worked fine before. Manually shifting didnt work either.

What would cause this? (please explain in detail, new to dodge)

I had to same 1st to 2nd problems. Changed the pressure solenoid and transducer before any other problems popped up and now it shifts fine.

if it isnt the pressure solenoid and transducer then you roasted the forward clutches.

Theres no reverse either. They all went at the same time.

Yes i checked the fluid level, had the tranny flushed and all new fluids 500 miles ago.

This morning went out started the truck and it worked for about 3 miles then quite working again on the way to the mechanic.

That's probably your problem right there. Flushing is not good. Drain and refill only is what my 30 year transmission DTT builder suggests. When I went to get my trans "built", He had a trans sitting on his shop floor that was ruined because of flushing. It loosens up debris inside the trans....and then it clogs up. You have to change the transmission filter too....and the only way to get to it is to drop the pan...which is what the trans flush guys try to avoid.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I hope the place you took it for flushing will be willing to pay up. If it shifted great prior to going there and now 500 miles later it's ruined.....there has to be a connection there.

I saw you said you were new to dodge. Make sure you check the tranny fluid when hot, in Nuetural, not park as in other vehicles.

Tranny flushing with any modern Chrysler trans in sketchy. The requirement of ATF+4 gets ignored and other fluids get put in. Plus the debris factor. ATF+4 is somewhere near $6.00 a qt and flushing would require maybe 20+ quarts. I highly doubt any lube and tune would be on the up and up re this.
