Shock Absorbers

I need new shocks. I read somewhere here that bilsteins are on national back order. My truck is a commuter truck and I do 80miles a day in it, but the road I drive on is pretty bad. I wouldn't mind a softer shock to smooth the ride a little. I know, this is still a 3/4ton so I am not expecting a Cadillac ride. I would like a shock that has a decent warranty though. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Summit Racing has Bilstein 5100s in stock for $79 a piece. I ordered two fronts on Tuesday and they are scheduled to be delivered on Thursday.

Unfortunetley the 5100 were unavailable where I live. I guess I could have bought them online, but I ordered Skyjackers Nitrochaged sofride or something like that. I paid $73 Can. for them so they were pretty reasonable. They are suppose to get here sometime next week. While I was at it I baught the stearing stabiliser as well. As soon as I install them I'll post how they are.

So far, I like the Ranco 9000rs's I put on awhile back. They're adjustable and have a lifetime warrenty.

Pro-Comp

I am in the market for some new shocks, look to gett new ones when I get my lift. My question is Pro-Comp has some new mono tubes with external tanks (oil resivor??). Are these any good? There about the same as twin tube shocks. Are these the same, just with external resivors??

Also how do the blistens ride? Are they softer than stock, or stiffer? Do they provide more dampening but a firmer ride? I would love to get a better shock, but I also love the stif ness (parents had a 97 tahoe that would make you sick hitting bumps) It was like a lead boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I put Rancho 9000's all around at 60,000 or so, put 20,000 on them including a trip to Coldfoot, AK pullng a 5th Wheel. If I had to do it again, I would still get the 9000's.

I have had the Rancho 9000's on my truck for about 20K miles now. I like the adjustability feature for when the slide in is on the truck. I can't honestly say that they soften the ride when empty though. But w/ the camper on and pulling a quad trailer the ride is good. As stated above, it's still a 3/4 ton
