Problems with 2005's?

Considering a 2005 or even waiting to see what 2006 brings....Does anybody know if the 2005's are experiencing the same vibration/drone issues that have plagued many 2004.5's? I read somewhere that DC was switching to an aluminum drive shaft, but the '05's I have looked under still have a steel drive shaft. Any input would be great as I am looking to sell my 01'.

My 05 is fine. I don't have the vibration, but in the 65-70 range it gets a little loud at times (not always) and you could see where it would occur if it was there. I heard you feel it in the pedals and the seats, but mine is smooth as silk. I'm 100% satisfied with this truck, but I made sure I took it on a good test drive before I signed off on it. I checked it out right through 60-75 a few times and made sure it didn't have it.
Do a search on here, there's a lot of recent info on owner feedback on who's got what.
One thing I didn't do was drive a ford or gmc to compare the ride, but those weren't an option for me due to switching a cap from my 03 to my 05 and $$$. I think it would be a good idea to compare those trucks at those speeds to see what's what.

Have'nt had a single problem wiith my 05. I like it much more than my 03...much more power. And I like the high idle option.

bigblock2stroke!

Good to hear from you! You were very helpful during the 04.5 hesitation/misfire problem. What kind of fuel mileage are you getting out of your 1 ton. You have the same truck as me. But mine is a late April build 04.5. Later...

Thanks to all for your input. I was hoping dodge changed something and didn't just "ignore" the vibe issue.

My 2005 has no vibe but it could stand a little beter MPG.
Way more power than my SO 2003. I think most of the bad vibe trucks are short beds.
Just my impression.

My '05 vibrated only once ,at 570 miles, I had to hit 80mph so I backed out of it. On my return trip I hit 90+ and held it for a few miles. After that no more vibration. The vibration in mine seemed to be motor induced not drivetrain though.
Caution 90 mph is over the speed limit, or so my CHP buddies tell me!

How abought injector noises or other odd engine noises that come on with time? My 04.5 is back at the dealership for the 3rd time for what started as what I thought was an injector tick and has now developed into a knock. I talked to one of the salesmen when I dropped it off and he is going to figure up what it would take to trade for a new 05 if they wont fix my 04.5 yet. Hopefully it wont come to that but if it does I am going to take a long hard look at GMC D/A crew cab and a new dodge cummins like what I already got. My wife is pulling for the GMC so it is an auto and she can drive it. I wont even consider a dodge auto, one of those was enough.
