Difference between a 2005 and 2005.5 model

Does any one know of any difference made from a 2005 to a 2005.5 model? Also, how can you tell if it is a 2005.5? What build date would start the 05.5 models?

We have a 2005 but not for sure if its a 05.5. Trying to find out for modications issues. I was told that no one has anything for a 2005.5 model because the program was different on them.

I do know the truck is a 325/610 engine.

Thanks

Brandon

The end tanks on the intercoolers on early 05's were made of plastic. The early model 05 6 speeds are New Venture and switched over to Getrag. I'm not sure of the software in the computers but I'm sure they have had some upgrades.

You might also be lucky if you get an 05.5 with the updated door seals so they don't rip.

5/05 build date on mine and it had metal charge air cooler and new style door seals already on it. Hope that helps some.

You're right, except its not a Getrag. Its an in house DCX trans from Daimler in Europe.

Technically, they didn't actually do a mid model year release (like they did with the 2003.5 HO 48RE and the 2004.5 610 engines). Those were called "running changes", so they are all really 2005's.
