Problem with stock tranny

I have an 05 2500 with 63k miles and I just put a smarty on it at level 5. I now have the problem in second gear driving normally it just doesn't want to really catch, it just seems like its constantly slipping when going up hills, I can give it a little more throttle and the rpms just go up without much moving. On the other hand it drives fine when I get on it hard, shift fine and holds the gears fine. What do you guys think the problem is, do i just need a band adjustment or what going on here....

4" lift....35's....SMARTY on 5...............DUH!.............But for real that combo on a 63k+ stock tranny is a killer for sure, upgrade time! I know the seat of the pants power is addicting, but it needs to be used wisley, with a stock tranny.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Sounds as if got all the good out of 2nd gear band and perhaps some more.
Band adjustment long time ago might have helped.

Manually shift it into 2nd gear and see if it acts the same way. You will get 2nd lockup and should be able to tell if it is slipping. If it still feels sloppy and slips you have a band or servo problem.

If it feels tight and no slipping it is just not liking the extra power. I had the same problem and fixed it with a shift kit. I am runing Smarty Wild on #9 and at all throttle positions the shifts are good.
