oil pressure gauge

My Oil pressure is all over the place cold its on the high side hot one the low end.....

So I want to get a check gauge, I'm looking at this and just leave it under the hood.
Its just for a piece of mind of the dash gauge gets lower.

What is the max Oil pressure we have, is a 0-60 ok or do I need a 0-100.

This is my plan,

Should be able to just screw the oil line in and the gauge on the end of the oil line, zip tie it or mount it and be fine.

Does anyone else have a setup like this or think of another path.
Don't want a in cab and need to run wires or anything. Clean easy and good bang for the buck.

You'll need a 0-100 psi gauge. When cold the pressure is around 75-80 psi according to my gauge as taken from the port on the oil filter head.

Yep 0-100. 75-80 is about the most you will see.

You stock gauge is a glorified idiot light. The ECM has no idea how much pressure the truck is making, it only has a 6psi switch. If it moves that much it probably means your truck is a few software updates behind.

OK, thanks.

So 75-80 psi is the top what you finding on the low side hot?

When would you worry?

I know how the stock gauge is just an idiot light but just in the past 6 months to a year I have been seeing it go from the low side hot to the high side cold and I don't remember that in the past.

Low side hot I see about 20-22 with 15W-50 and 18-20 with 5w-30.

58-62 is normal cruise. Would have to be below 50 cruise for me to work.

Unless you have had a software change the stock gauge shouldn't change.
