Oil pressure gauge not showin normal pressure..

About 5 days ago i pulled a 17,000lbs trailer over a hill called mountrose hwy 431 it is quite steep for the begining part then it is all down hill after about 10 miles.. Well this was the first time i have ever pulled a trailer of that magnatude.. I was in 4th gear revin about 24-2500 rpm is that bad because ever since then my oil pressure guage has read a little bit higher than it use to.. My truck only has 13,600 miles on it..

C'mon Pourin...........don't make us do your work for ya!

Ripper, the gauge installed on our trucks is a fake gauge. It shows what you will think is good pressure anytime the actual pressure is over, I believe 6 lbs.

I know it's stupid. I wish they would put an ACTUAL functional gauge that would help us, but instead DC decided to just make us all "feel good" by putting that dummy gauge on there.

the edge juice for 06 is sweet! stage six already programmed in. You will just need to call and get the 4 digit code. ( 160 HP 350 TQ )

I don't know if the gauge is accurate or not, but it does show oil "pressure" because when my turbo drain line blew it dropped to 0 then the check gauges light came on. Now you can't touch anything on the bottom side of my truck without turning black. Good thing is i no longer have to see the rusty driveshaft, it's black too now!

The engine has an oil pressure switch that reads "on" or "off" when it sees 7 psi.
So when a check engine light goes off related to an oil pressure related issue that means that your oil pressure switch did not see the 7 psi that keeps it happy.
