I'm sure someone else has noticed this:
This new truck that I got is a 04.5 4X4 auto won't spin the tires from a stop sign, With my old 5 spd, I had a blast showing off by being able to leave my mark on the pavment. This one won't do that. Is there a way to fix that?

The computer is designed to avoid spinning the tires. My 2003 with a 5-speed only spun the tires if I powerbraked sometimes it would chirp on the shift from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to fourth adding a chip will defeat that and you can smokem good then.
BTW add some twin turbos and you can leave 150 foot burnouts......

I can't believe you can't feel it. I can rev the engine up to 2500 and quickly let out the clutch and engine defuels until vehicle speed reaches the rpm window that the computer thinks is right. The momentum of the engine alone should make the wheels spin, but it doesn't.

Thats funny my 04.5 6 speed will roast them proper if I want. I dont make a habit of wasting tire and clutch life but if I get mad at an intersection or something, the tires tend to take the brunt of my road rage. It will even slide the rear end around on dry pavment if so motivated. (Not that I would know or anything. )

My rear end will slide too, if I am going over 5 mph. Freaks out my passengers. When I am gassin' it around the corner, I always have to be ready for some counter steer to keep it going in the directions that I want.

My bro just got a hemi, I did my best to get him to get a cummins..... he got wrapped up in the sound of the flowmaster short pipes on it. After he drove it he fell in love with it, I tried to get him to try the cummins.... jeez they cost about the same! he went with the hemi. His first dodge, I hope he has a good experience with it..............I'll get him to get a cummins next time!

I wonder what that'll do to the truck pulls! I talked to the dealership about mods. long story short is. If there are no mods then you work the dog snot out of it and it breaks, then it's covered. Anything larger than a 6 in lift will void the warrenty. any high flow i.e. K&N can void the warrenty.
I gues there is a benefit to not spinning the tires. When your opponent is still spinnin, I'll be taking off!

wqith the 245s when i first bought the truck it would run um. then at about 20 it would get them again. Ive got the 48, but then the dealer puit ont 265s and she wont do it. Kinda makes me sad. I figured it had some sort of tranny control that wouldnt let it.
for now im driving a 045 f150 ( overall dog. Not cause its a ford. Just doesnt seem as decent as my 97 1500 ram) But it will run the tire over, no limited slip haha. Guy gave me **** for it today. Im like hum my diesel turns 2 tires over this will only do one. Im not so impressed.
My guess is that a aftermarket Transmission will fix that problem with the tires spin though. Some kinda converter with more grip

My 600 roasts the factory 265s like nothing. Within the first 500 miles of ownership I'd already left rubber twice completely by accident. Didn't dump the clutch, was just going off in 1st gear and SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEL! Anti-spin rear diff does its job quite admirably... got two black marks each time.
Yesterday I was in a bit of a hurry getting home so was doing a few powerslides around corners and then did do a fast start to change lanes and make it through a light (which of course made the rear end get squirrely as I took off). Freaks out other people on the road who don't know what I'm doing! This truck is very trackable and, despite its huge size, is almost as easy to control when having fun as my Jag. On a track against other trucks I imagine it would most likely win stock vs. stock or modified vs. modified.
I think what my friend said a few days ago sums it up quite nicely: "I love this truck!"

i did a nice drift through a left hand turn in a semi busy intersecton yesterday in 4th gear going to work [dry pavement, was trying to beat the cars coming towards me.]. when coming back from work, there was some nice black lines there. from a stand still my truck won't spin the tires [nor do i really want it to] but get a little rain on the road, and i have trouble starting off in 2nd with zero throttle. it will spin them there...
