Using Electric Oil Pressure Gauge for Fuel Pressure

I was wondering while thumbing through my Summit catalog, why should I have to pay $225 for a 0-30# electric fuel pressure gauge? I was just thinking about running a fuel line into the cab, but Autogauge doesn't sell a 0-30# mech. So I just called Auto Gauge and asked if their electric oil pressure gauge was compatible with diesel fuel. All they said was it could be used but they reccomend their "razzle me dazzle" stainless steel sender, digital microproceesor, $225 type, cause it's supposed to be more accurate and reliable. So has anyone here using this or has tried and failed? Let me know.

BTT. I'm just needing more input from people before doing this.

i am using autometer's electric fuel pressure gauge. i talked to cory at their tech dept numerous times (he seems to know his stuff) he recommended using a pressure snubber when using it on the cummins engine to do the spike in fuel pressures. haven't had a problem yet-works great.

You can find mechanical guages at www.dieselmanor.com or at www.dieselperformanceparts.com or www.genosgarage.com for a good price.
