Is anyone having that has the new G56 transmission and towing having problems with their 5th gear?

I was talking with a guy in the shop today that works for a hot shot on the weekends, he said the NV was notorious for loosing 5th gear.

 

The early production NV4500 5 speed was notorious for loosing the 5th gear nut when put under alot of load and or stress.

The NV5600 6 speed has never had any problems that I can recall.

The G56 is still unproven in america, simular setup used in europe by mercedes and works fine.

 

Why?Are you?

The GETRAGS lost 5th gear nut.Never heard of a NV having a problem.The G56 is NOT a Getrag

 

....better research that info a bit dog. I think Bluebull got it right.

 

Wel I never saw a fith gear gone in 4 years handling D.C.products in a NV series..Only in the GETRAGS and saw a lot of them.

 

Nope the NV 5 spd trannies lost the gear nut. Dodge even fessed up to the problem.
