New Article: ATS Transmission Install

DTR is proud to present our newest article:

ATS Transmission Install

Basically, I wrote this short article to give you an idea of what I experienced while having my ATS transmission installed, but also to let you know how the transmission is doing 1 month later. If you're interested in transmissions, this is an article for you.

Keep in mind that this article is based on MY experience with ATS and their products. Induvidual results may vary but I invite you to check it out.

Feel free to have a technical discussion about this, or throw out your Q&A. Do not: Flame, insult or otherwise cause problems. I'm putting this out ahead of time because I know how stuff flies with transmission issues.

Have fun!

Nice article. How much $$ did this cost? I'm not too far from Denver myself, and I have a little extra dough burning a hole in the pocket. Thanks.

Re:New Article: ATS Transmission Install

I think your best bet is to get pricing from them because each truck is different. It changes quite a bit depending on the options you want. I got the full Stage IV transmission with Pac-Brake and TripleLok Controller. It's been a great tranny so far, and runs solid. Definately make the truck more fun to drive Now I just have to figure out my fueling problem. (pump?).

Jack

Re:New Article: ATS Transmission Install

Good to see you John. Thanks. This has been one heck of a unit so far. The locked shifting is nice. As a matter of fact, I can't bring myself to ever turn the controller off. I always keep it right about 30 mph unless I want to mess around a bit, then I turn is on 15. The cool thing with the brake is that you can run down steep hills, locked in 2nd. Talk about a huge deal for those pulling trailers to Cherokee or something. Makes a huge difference, especially in tranny temps.
