if you are looking for a stock replacement, you can get on dodgeparts.com and find a complete unit for less than that.

That's a better price, but go on rockauto.com, they have the stock replacement one listed for $153.79 if that's what you want to do.

got mine from Geno's and it only took me less than 1 hour from the time the hood went up 'til I closed it back. I've got almost 15k on it so far with no problems. Almost easier than changing the oil...

FYI, we just broke down an 03 factory lift pump and the cause of failure was one of the motor brushes. It was totally gone with just a wire left. Failed at about 70K miles. The design has the motor totally submerged in fuel and a spiral vane impeller. No evidence of any other problem or excessive wear.

Has anyone stripped down an in-tank (or any other type) after a failure to see the cause?

Are you going to rebuild it? I changed my stock LP at about 80k miles, and I still have it as a spare. It would be nice if there was a simple rebuild kit for the stock lift pump.

I was wondering about that, I thought they weren't serviceable and figured it had to be destroyed to get a good look at the guts.

Did you remove the lift pump from the top or from under the truck. There doesn't look like there is enough room to get at it from the top. Any advice or hints on how to install a new stock lift pump?

The instructions that come with the pump from Geno's are very good, I removed mine from the top no problem just four allen head bolts. Complete replacement in less than an hour, that includes time to find rubber gloves and tools.

Well I got mine changed out tue. about and hour and after reading all kinds of stuff. I went with the Geno's replacement and I'm going to get one more from rock auto for 20.00 less and put under rear seat. I couldn't see doing the dodge thing for 900.00 or the Raptor RP100 for 460.00 or any of the other things I could have done for a lot more cash.
