How difficult are injectors to replace?

I replaced the injectors on my 2002 Cummins, so I am curious how much more difficult they are to replace on my 2006?

Haven't done them on a 2nd gen but I just pulled mine out of an 05' last wkend. not that hard i think i spent longer cleaning up the engine bay and hood liner so i didn't knock any dirt in than i did pulling them. and you don't need any special tools either my connector tubes pulled right out and a careful screwdriver pry under the lip on the injector they came right out. there are some good write ups on here w/ pics

Thanks, also, if I get injectors that are more horsepower than stock, is there anything else along the way that needs upgrading? I would be looking at 30-50hp increase.

I found the injectors easier to do on my '03 than my '01. Lines were easier to remove and no bleeding necessary! Good time to do a valve set while you are there.

That's good. I got the new injector tubes as well for an upgrade. I am going to tackle it in a couple of weeks. I'll keep everyone posted on the results of those injectors!

I would for sure add a pyrometer when running with any performance upgrade...

I would add gauges for piece of mind, but you
wont need to do anything with a small injector upgrade.

stay with the 30 to 50 hp. this will give you 2 mpg increase. add a smarty jr, set on default tow and get another 1.5 to 2 mpg. change the cam to a pdr or colt and pick up another 1.5 mpg the mods also lowers the egt by 300* and makes towing a pleasure.
