Got the new motor in last night and there are some changes between 06 and 05 that I did not expect. The a/c compressor is different and the lines will not hook up. Not that bad since I had just replaced mine earlier this year. The injector harness, rocker box and the valve cover are different but the main engine plug is the same. I like the new cover better and I was wanting to swap out for it anyway. Now I just need oil, trans fluid, anifreeze, power steering fluid, oilfilter,fuelfilter,transfilter,50 sticks, smarty, fueldog, and the list just goes on and on and on...........

Oh and on a lighter note don't lean your stack against the bed side in the bed when working on the motor it may fall over and shatter your back glass.

Yeah, for '06 they switched from a Sanden to a Halla (made in Korea) compressor... I'd use the Sanden off your blown engine - it's a better unit.
Cost about X2 as well.

Can I have your '05 valve cover?

Man Kurt, that stinks. . Now that I see your hard on parts I better check the bolts on that short throw shifter you helped me install. . . haha. Way to keep your attitude up, even with the back glass. .

and on that video, posted above where is all the oil? did i miss it some where?

Well It's alive!!! I hope no one has to go thru what I have the past week. Got it all in with the 06 harness and guess what no power to the fuel pump. The harness has all the same connections except for two problems the injector plugs are different there are only two on the 06 and there are three on the 05. Second there is a power supply wire in the 05 harness that does not exist in the 06. So because I wanted the 06 valve cover I had to use the 05 harness and cut and splice the injector harness from the 06 onto the 05. Thank you service manuals for wiring diagrams. Any one need a transfer case?

I agree! He just had this happen 12 days ago. Had to collect his thoughts, find and purchase an engine and then made the swap himself. Very impressive Kurt!

Glad to see you got it running again. Now you are set for (at least) another 339,000 miles.

..

Lets hope so on the miles. Now I have to find a rear glass. Oh and now I am going to work on getting over the flu. Anyone have an extra one piece glass they want to get rid of? At least I got my stack completed.

Now you got AC until you can get both the window and the AC lines fixed.
