long way from home on sat nite HELP

Guys need so help i live in louisiana im in Monticello,Mn. was going 65 mph n 95 and heard and seen a oil smoke and smelled oil burning pulled over and seen oil all over but not dripping oil pressure was good and eng. was ok so i went slow to next exit and a gas station found rear end oil all over front diff. was dark and snow is falling so went to the days inn and got a room for the nite need any and all help I can get to get it checked out and where to go with it and yes I know its sat. nite and prob.will be mon. before i can get it to a shop but i do have allday sun to maybe look for the problem and maybe fix it any and all help would be awsome

I belive he is saying that he has gear oil on the front differential. Is it near the wheels or more towards the center like it is a pinion seal or a bad cover gasket?

From what I understand, Minnesota is getting hammered by snow right now...were you driving in 4-wheel drive?

no 4 wheel drive on cant see yet if vent tube is off got a room for the night will look at it better in the morning i hope its the vent tube tube but why would it do this its allmost 5 years old but only 53000 miles and only i have drove it

I did engage the 4 x 4 but i was only doing 35 or 40 on a exit and took it out of 4x4 as soon as i was back on the freeway never go over 50mph in 4wheel drive and only as long as needed am pulling my horse trailer but its not but 16 ft 3 slant goose neck oil is out of front diff. cover is painted red but its black with oil and it blew all the way to the fire wall and smells like gear oil had ames oil in it just changed it 3000 miles ago 2 weeks ago went to talladega pulling camper that was a 1000 miles round trip and had 1300 miles on it so far on this trip and it was 34 degrees at the time it blew no gears are hurt i think but till i remove cover and check will not know if anyone lives near by and can tell me where i can get service done sun or mon call me 225-242-7822 will check back here in the morning got the horse picked up so that is done but still a long way from home and need some help any ideas will be very helpfull

check your power steering and tranny cooler lines they could have spring a small leak due to age/ cold/ vibration

will do thanks ,sure smells llike gear oil but it could be power steering it is a 6 speed so no cooler lines

sorry im using days inn puter and trying to check truck went to jiffy lube and found it a qt to a qt and a 1/2 low front cover is smoked paint burned off,locals have refered me to 2 shops in this town so mon morning will see if they can fix diffs and how long it will take to far from home to get towed home or ask buddys to come get me and my truck and still after it gets home and fixed will have to still come back to get trailer and horse so any ideas gears ok no sounds to say gears let go i think maybe bearning and inter seal

Dunno. Maybe pinion seal? I'd think a bearing would make noise, and/or you could feel roughness when turning a wheel by hand.

Maybe pull the front drive line for now and it should get you home in 2wd.
