P0336 Generic Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

Common code thrown with TST PowerMaxCR. If you have a TST box then not much to do but clear and ignore it. If you do not have a TST and have the code, does the truck run normal? If so I would not worry about it. Clear it if you can and see if it comes back. If it does check the wiring harness and connector to the crank shaft sensor.

Code 0336

If you lug the engine at 1000 to 1200 rpm it can cause this code especially if you have a TST. Just clear it and ignore it. I used to get it quit a bit till I learned to let the rpms build a little more while going thru the gears and I do not get it anymore. I do not know what you could do if you have an auto trans.

I've had this code twice lately, both after extended start/crank times. Truck seems to run ok, and code clears after a few cycles. I'm wondering about why I'm getting the code with the long cranks.

Code 0336

I would check the connector at the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Make sure it is making good contact. Might want to put some dialectric grease on the contacts before you put it back together.
